Claude Savaghue of Montreal Canada passed away Sunday November 21st...2021Claude was an Electro Mechanical Genius who repaired anything manmade....!!He could just "look" at something . and figure it out WITHOUT a schematic.... GeniusClaude taught me all i needed to know to repair Seeburgs...Claude would come to my shop and spend a couple weeks and he would have 10 Seeburgs REBUILT for me...He kept me caught up... Hello Mike rebuilt the SHFA1 amplifier in my Seeburg 220 back in 2005 and it still sounds just as good today, as it did 20 years ago! I was hoping you might have, or know where I could find a RSVC-1 remote volume control for my Seeburg 220? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Hey, Mike! I bought a DS-160 from you a couple of years back and it has been great! About 6-8 months ago, I started hearing what I would describe as a metallic sounding feedback in the right ear speaker (as you are facing the machine). It has been a little annoying, but not horrible, because we don't use it a lot. I'm hoping to be playing it at a Halloween party next week and I was wondering if it sounds to you like something may have just come loose or moved in a way that might be an easy fix that I could do. ......AUGUST 5TH 2021.....Dear Mike and Faye, First of all I would like to apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I have been incredibly busy with my motel business in Ocean City and have had no time for anything else. Having said that I wanted to let you know how pleased I am with your restoration of my Seeburg 222. The box arrived from the STI shippers in perfect condition and was placed in my guest house with no problem whatsoever. They are a first class company and the young men who delivered it could not have more helpful and were quite willing to put the box inside where I wanted it, which was no small feat considering they had to lift the box up several steps of an outside deck to gain easy access to the house. When I had time a few days later to completely take all of the packing off and set the box up using your very thorough and complete instructions, I plugged her in, made my first selection and it picked it up and worked perfectly. The cosmetic work on the box is a work of art considering what it looked like when I sent it to you. All of the chrome is just beautiful, the cigarette burned selection button replaced, Faye's work on the veneer and everything else that needed to be replaced was perfectly done. It was not playing some selections so I've removed and cleaned the pin bank. I have it back together and it automatically started playing each track one by one. All the A sides then the B sides. It's playing perfect but I can't get it to stop playing automatically and play selections via the buttons I think I had most the pinbank pins outwards when I reinstalled it. We've owned our Seeburg HF100G for almost 5 years and while we have enjoyed it, the sound was never right (the guy we bought it from promised the amp was freshly rebuilt) the volume was too low and it had no base. Finally it died completely. We sent it off to you and waited impatiently for the return. What a difference upon return. The sound is really there!!!!! We love playing it! Thanks again. Made it home with the Seeburg I won on e-bay. Wanted to thank you for helping to load it in my truck and wrapping it so well. It was dry as a bone even though I ran into a storm in Maryland. I will try to remember that for "next time". The 6V bulb that lights up the 100 in the mechanism cover has been burned out for years. While I was inside oiling, I removed it and went to EVERY auto, electric, and hardware store within 15 miles. Nobody has one and nobody even has a similar one listed in the parts catalog. Hi Mike..hope all is well...you serviced my 201 back in 2000..after getting it back from you it has worked perfectly...right now...every once in a while...while any song is playing....the volume will drop down a bit during the song...as if I turned the volume down, and then perhaps 4 seconds later..the volume will go back to normal...my guess hopefully is that a tube is going bad....what do you think and if the tube is your guess also..which tube (s) do I need to replace? Also....when I need to replace the cartridge / needle on this box...which make and model do you suggest?? Thanks much for your time in answering me...
